7 notesSo my older brother hurt his back in the gym with us yesterday. He’s one of those people who’s extremely stubborn and won’t admit it to himself when something is too heavy and his body’s reached it’s limits. He’s also the same type of person who will put alot of weight, and sacrifice form and efficiency for weight. I think after yesterday, he’s finally learned his lesson though. There’s no reason one should be considering their pride when it comes to weight lifting. It’s the quickest way to get hurt and look stupid all at the same time. I see this way too much. People letting their egos get the better of them and suffering from injuries, slowing their progress cause they aren’t lifting properly, and not knowing their limits. Bodybuilding and weight lifting all alike is no place for egos. It’s a place for hard work and dedication, yes, a place for constantly creating new limits for yourself and improving, yes, getting stronger and breaking plateaus, yes, but it’s absolutely no place for huge egos.
You’ll get there in time, just do things the right way and have patience.
